Actually, while this is not a likely scenario on a broad scale, the COVID epidemic has made it less unlikely than it was. My wife tells me the Real Estate broker appraising her parent's house in a small town here in Germany mentioned that people are rethinking their devotion to overcrowded, polluted, too-frantic cities and moving back to smaller towns. Also, people seem to want get closer to nature and perhaps family. If this translates to the States, maybe there will be some reverse flow...but, of course, for the fact that the crazies and their guns are out *there.* Does a liberal-minded person really want to live surrounded by red MAGA hats?
